The Gospel doesn’t merely call us into a relationship with Christ and one another; it also sends us out into the world on mission. Embracing our identity as sent by Jesus is essential to understanding that all of life (at work, at home, in our neighborhoods, in our city) is mission.
We believe Jesus has sent the whole church to do the whole mission of making disciples to the ends of the earth until He returns. A disciple of Jesus is one who is committed to bringing all of life increasingly under the leadership of Jesus and leading others to do the same.
Our city desperately needs normal, everyday people like farmers, factory workers, teachers, secretaries, and small business owners who think and act like missionaries by proclaiming the good news of Jesus Christ to their friends, neighbors, and co-workers. It is our prayer that we might be a part of equipping God’s people to realize they are the church sent into the everyday stuff of life, so God might fill every place with His glory through His people. “The church is not a place; it’s people sent to fill every place with Jesus’ presence, every day.” (Jeff Vanderstelt)
